If you’re looking to relocate to Maple Ridge, British Columbia, there are many factors you have to take into account to make sure you’re making the best decision for you and your family. Among the most important to keep in mind is the state of the local school system and private school options.
Our team here at Maple Ridge Real Estate know firsthand that uprooting your entire family can be a difficult process, and your children will need only the best schools to acclimate to their new environment. It’s a tall order, but we’re pretty confident that if you’re looking for good schools like the highly rated Thomas Hayney Secondary School, shown above, you’ll find them.
School District No. 42
Whether starting your child in kindergarten or graduating your high school senior, the public schools in Maple Ridge fall under School District No.42, which boasts some of the better schools in the area. Each of these schools offer incredible arts and sports programs for your children, with a special emphasis on building stronger neighbourhood communities. We’ve also found that the local school system is particularly good at maintaining an open dialogue with parents to ensure that all the children are getting the care and service they deserve.
Available Private Schools
If you think private schooling would be a better fit for your children, there’s no need to worry. Maple Ridge boasts some of the best private schools around, and we are sure you’ll find the perfect match for your family. Of the handful of major schools in the area, two are full PreK-12: the Meadowridge School and the Maple Ridge Christian School. For other K-7 options, you can choose from the James Cameron School, the St. Patrick School and also a Meadow Montessori School.
What About Extracurricular Activities?
Having great schools in the area is not the only thing you’re going to want for your children. Without good extracurricular activities nearby, a good school can only fare so well. Luckily, Maple Ridge includes some wonderful resources for parents trying to get their kids out of the house.
In addition to beautiful parks and nature trails, most of the schools in Maple Ridge have standout athletic programs, and the area Arts Council does a great job of putting on events and exhibits for local artists. Even if you’re trying to introduce your child to volunteer clubs, there are plenty to choose from in our civic-conscious community.
